[Event] Shape The Future with Lloyds

Image
I attended the talk called "Shape The Future with Lloyds". It was exciting to see a legacy bank break out of its monolithic shell and dive into Digital Transformation. The Lloyds Bank team shared insights into their journey of innovation; their commitment and the challenges faced in reshaping such a large institution. It was a great reminder of how iterative progress drives change across any industry. A special thanks to David Underwood for not only posting this event but also for sharing his experience in making daily multiple deployments possible; a true marker of transformation in action!

Java 17 as LTS has been released since Sep 2021 while Java 8 remains widely used. I have prepared a Java library for Yahoo! Finance called YFinance4J to demonstrate some new features after Java 8. Hopefully the new features may tempt you to switch.

UHackFin 2017

Image
I jumped into an amazing adventure last week. That was called UHackFin, a hackathon of FinTech. The organizer was Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In the hackathon, participants were required to submit a FinTech idea with deliverables in 24 hours. I joined it as an individual but formed a very energetic team with talents there. Each of us had different backgrounds. Although we had to spend more time to understand and explain to each other, the diversity made us consider questions from diversified points of view. This made us learn a lot. In order to memorize what we have learnt, I jotted the notes as the below for everyone's reference.
